Minnesota did not, however, defeat the Pistons against the spread, which closed at 8.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 186.5.
Minnesota got 11 points from Wes Johnson and another 11 points from Anthony Tolliver. Ricky Rubio contributed 8 assists, while Kevin Love cleaned the glass with 17 rebounds.
The Pistons got a 29-point performance from Tayshaun Prince, who was supported by 18 points from Ben Gordon. Brandon Knight had 6 assists in a losing cause for Detroit, while Greg Monroe grabbed 12 rebounds.
Minnesota trailed at halftime, 42-36.
The rebound battle favored Minnesota as they grabbed 44 boards, while Detroit only had 41.
Minnesota looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Clippers. The Pistons will aim to get back on the winning track vs Memphis.
