The battle between the 76ers and Celtics didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Boston was handed a 103-71 defeat on Wednesday at Wells Fargo Center.
Philadelphia won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 6-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 176.5.
Evan Turner had 26 points for Philadelphia and Elton Brand chipped in with 18 points. Andre Iguodala had 8 assists for the 76ers, while Nikola Vucevic was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 12 boards.
The Celtics got a 16-point performance from Paul Pierce, who was supported by 12 points from Brandon Bass. Rajon Rondo had 8 assists in a losing cause for Boston, while Kevin Garnett grabbed 5 rebounds.
Philadelphia led at halftime, 55-33.
The rebound battle favored Philadelphia as they grabbed 54 boards, while Boston only had 35.
Next game, Philadelphia takes its act home to face Utah looking for another win. For Boston, they head home to face Portland.
