Los Angeles did not, however, defeat the Timberwolves against the spread, which closed at 7.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 196.5.
Los Angeles got 17 points from Pau Gasol and another 17 points from Matt Barnes. Steve Blake contributed 6 assists, while Andrew Bynum cleaned the glass with 14 rebounds.
The Timberwolves got a 27-point performance from Kevin Love, who was supported by 20 points from Nikola Pekovic. Luke Ridnour had 11 assists in a losing cause for Minnesota, while Kevin Love grabbed 15 rebounds.
Los Angeles led at halftime, 50-41.
Minnesota won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 55-47.
Next game, Los Angeles takes its act home to face Utah looking for another win. For Minnesota, they head on the road to face Sacramento.
