The battle between the Raptors and 76ers didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Philadelphia was handed a 99-78 defeat on Wednesday at Wells Fargo Center.
The Raptors were an 8.5-point underdog in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 183.5.
Toronto got 24 points from Andrea Bargnani and another 18 points from DeMar DeRozan. Jose Calderon contributed 13 assists, while Ed Davis cleaned the glass with 14 rebounds.
Philadelphia got 20 points from Jrue Holiday in a losing cause and another 20 points from Elton Brand. Andre Iguodala contributed 6 assists for the 76ers, while Spencer Hawes had 9 rebounds.
Toronto trailed at halftime, 56-55.
The rebound battle favored Toronto as they grabbed 46 boards, while Philadelphia only had 29.
Next game, Toronto takes its act home to face Cleveland looking for another win. For Philadelphia, they head home to face Orlando.
