Al Horford had 24 points for Atlanta and Jeff Teague chipped in with 23 points. Jeff Teague had 7 assists for the Hawks, while Josh Smith was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 14 boards.
The Celtics got a 24-point performance from Kevin Garnett, who was supported by 17 points from Jeff Green. Rajon Rondo had 11 assists in a losing cause for Boston, while Kevin Garnett grabbed 10 rebounds.
The Hawks hit the break trailing 57-38 before taking care of business in the second half.
Atlanta won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 49-48.
