Martell Webster had 16 points for Washington and John Wall chipped in with 15 points. John Wall had 9 assists for the Wizards, while Nene Hilario was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 11 boards.
Brooklyn got 20 points from Deron Williams in a losing cause and another 14 points from Joe Johnson. Deron Williams contributed 5 assists for the Nets, while Reggie Evans had 13 rebounds.
First-half bettors who backed Washington were victorious, as the score was 51-31 at the break.
Brooklyn won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 47-45.
Next game, Washington takes its act on the road to face Milwaukee looking for another win. For Brooklyn, they head home to face San Antonio.
