UAB escapes against SMU

The UAB Blazers barely escaped with a 63-62 win over the SMU Mustangs thanks to a blown layup in the closing seconds at Moody Coliseum Saturday night.

SMU covered as a 5-point home underdog while the final score played UNDER the 129-point total.

Elijah Millsap led the Blazers to victory with 20 points while George Drake chipped in with 14 points.

Derek Williams missed a shot at the buzzer, finishing with 23 points for the Mustangs. Papa Dia added 11 points in the loss.
