The Marquette Golden Eagles avoided an upset to the Providence Friars, escaping with an 82-79 win at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Saturday.
Marquette covered as a 2-point road favorite while the final score played OVER the 157-point total.
Lazar Hayward led the Golden Eagles with 28 points and nine rebounds. Jimmy Butler chipped in with 19 points.
The Friars got 28 points from Jamine Peterson while Sharaud Curry added 23 points in the loss.
