UTEP takes out Southern Methodist

Randy Culpepper netted 18 points and hauled down six rebounds to lead UTEP past Southern Methodist 62-51 on Wednesday night.

Texas El Paso covered as 3.5-point road favorites, while the teams played UNDER the 131.5-point total set by oddsmakers.

Derrick Caracter went for 16 points and eight boards for the Miners, who got 11 points from Jeremy Williams in the win.

Mouhammad Faye had 19 points and nine rebounds for SMU, while Papa Dia posted 11 points and eight boards for the Mustangs.
