Matt Howard scored 17 points Wednesday night, as the Butler Bulldogs defeated the Illinois-Chicago Flames 73-55.

The Bulldogs were a 23-point favorite in the game, but were unable to cover the spread. The combined score fell UNDER the posted over/under total (131).

Ronald Nored added 16 points for Butler and Gordon Hayward had 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Robo Kreps led Illinois-Chicago with 15 points and Jeremy Buttell delivered 10 points and 11 rebounds.
