UTEP stifles Air Force

Randy Culpepper and Christian Polk dropped 14 points apiece to lead UTEP past Air Force 58-47 in the championship game of the Bank of the West Don Haskins Sun Bowl Invitational on Tuesday night.

Texas El Paso couldn't cover as 21.5-point home favorites, while the game played UNDER the 135.5-point total set by oddsmakers.

Derrick Caracter had nine points and 10 rebounds for the Miners, who got nine points and nine boards from Arnett Moultrie in the win.

Michael Lyons netted 10 points for Air Force, while no other players scored in double figures for the Falcons.
