St. John's slams Connecticut

Sean Evans had 19 points and 10 rebounds, as St. John's overpowered Connecticut 73-51 in the first round of the Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday.

St. John's cashed as 4.5-point underdogs, while the teams played UNDER the 131.5-point total listed by sportsbooks.

Paris Horne and Justin Brownlee scored 13 points apiece for the Red Storm, who got eight points and seven assists from Malik Boothe in the upset.

Kemba Walker led UConn with 12 points, while Gavin Edwards added 11 points and six boards for the Huskies.
