Angelo Johnson drained 17 points to lead Southern Miss past UAB 58-44 in the Conference-USA Tournament quarterfinals in Tulsa on Thursday.

Southern Mississippi cashed as 6-point underdogs, while the game played UNDER the 117-point total set by sportsbooks.

Gary Flowers went for 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Golden Eagles, who got 12 points from R.L. Horton in the upset.

Jamarr Sanders scored 10 points for Alabama-Birmingham, while Elijah Millsap added seven points and eight boards for the Blazers.
