The Mississippi State Bulldogs were outplayed in the second half, but managed to hang on and defeat the Florida Gators 75-69 Friday night in the Southeastern Conference tournament.
Mississippi State covered the slight 1.5-point spread, and the 144 points sailed OVER the posted total of 132.
Barry Stewart poured in 17 points to lead Mississippi State, and Jarvis Varnado had 15 points in the win.
Kenny Boynton had 23 points for Florida, and Erving Walker collected 19 in the loss.
