Old Dominion upsets Notre Dame
Frank Hassell scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds Thursday afternoon, as the No. 11 Old Dominion Monarchs upset the No. 6 Notre Dame Fighting Irish 51-50 in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Monarchs were a 2.5-point underdog in the game. The combined score fell UNDER the posted over/under total (121.5).
Keyon Carter added 11 points for Old Dominion and Gerald Lee chipped in with nine points.
Ben Hansbrough led Notre Dame with 17 points and seven rebounds, while Luke Harangody was limited to only four points on 2-of-9 shooting.
