Horner, North Carolina State edges South Florida

Dennis Horner had 25 points and six rebounds to lift No. 6 North Carolina State past No. 3 South Florida 58-57 in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament on Tuesday night.

North Carolina State cashed as 3.5-point road underdogs, while the game played UNDER the 127-point total set by oddsmakers.

Tracy Smith added 14 points for the Wolfpack, who got seven rebounds from Scott Wood in the win.

Dominique Jones netted 24 points for South Florida, while Jarrid Famous went for 10 points and seven boards for the Bulls.
