Butler upsets Syracuse

The Butler Bulldogs raced out to a 10 point halftime lead and held on for a 63-59 win over the Syracuse Orange Thursday night to advance to the NCAA quarterfinals.

Butler won the game as 6.5-point underdogs, while the 122 points went UNDER the posted total of 138.

Gordon Hayward led the way with 17 points and five rebounds, while Shelvin Mack netted 14 points in the win.

Wes Johnson had 17 points and nine rebounds in the loss for Syracuse.
