The battle between Butler and Marian didnt turn out to be much of a battle at all as Marian was handed an 83-54 defeat on Saturday at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Butler got 20 points from Shelvin Mack and another 10 points from Andrew Smith. Ronald Nored contributed 5 assists, while Matt Howard cleaned the glass with 7 rebounds.
Marian got a 11-point performance from Jordan Tucker, who was supported by 9 points from Chris Roberts. Brandon Malone had 2 assists in a losing cause for Marian, while Matt Allee grabbed 4 rebounds.
Butler led at halftime, 42-28.
Butler won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 33-24.
