Syracuse got 17 points from Rick Jackson en route to an 86-67 victory over Canisius on Sunday at Carrier Dome.
Syracuse did not, however, defeat Canisius against the spread, which closed at 20.5 at most sportsbooks.
Brandon Triche had 16 points for Syracuse and Scoop Jardine chipped in with 13 points. Scoop Jardine had 8 assists for them, while Baye Moussa Keita was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 15 boards.
Canisius got 17 points from Greg Logins in a losing cause and another 16 points from Elton Frazier. Gaby Belardo contributed 6 assists for them, while Elton Frazier had 12 rebounds.
Syracuse led at halftime, 32-29.
