The battle between Rice and Grambling State didnt turn out to be much of a battle at all as Grambling State was handed an 86-57 defeat on Sunday at Autry Court.
Rice got 17 points from Tamir Jackson and another 17 points from Connor Frizzelle. Cory Pflieger contributed 5 assists, while Arsalan Kazemi cleaned the glass with 10 rebounds.
Grambling State got a 17-point performance from Donald Qualls, who was supported by 14 points from Brandon Wilson. Rupert Rose had 4 assists in a losing cause for Grambling State, while Brandon Wilson grabbed 5 rebounds.
Rice led at halftime, 34-27.
Rice won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 45-25.
