The battle between DePaul and Chicago State didnt turn out to be much of a battle at all as Chicago State was handed a 114-81 defeat on Sunday at Allstate Arena.
DePaul got 21 points from Tony Freeland and another 19 points from Mike Stovall. Brandon Young contributed 6 assists, while Jimmy Drew cleaned the glass with 8 rebounds.
Chicago State got 15 points from Christian Wall in a losing cause and another 14 points from Hajji Martin. Jonathan Montgomery contributed 3 assists for them, while Hajji Martin had 6 rebounds.
DePaul hit the break leading 59-45 before taking care of business in the second half.
Chicago State won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 42-37.
