The battle between Villanova and Lafayette didnt turn out to be much of a battle at all as Lafayette was handed an 86-41 defeat on Saturday at Villanova Pavilion.
Villanova got 19 points from Corey Stokes and another 16 points from Corey Fisher. Maalik Wayns contributed 6 assists, while Mouphtaou Yarou cleaned the glass with 12 rebounds.
Lafayette got 12 points from Jared Mintz in a losing cause and another 8 points from Jim Mower. Tony Johnson contributed 4 assists for them, while Ben Wheeler had 7 rebounds.
First-half bettors who backed Villanova were victorious, as the score was 38-20 at the break.
Villanova won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 51-27.
