Texas Tech grabbed a 79-71 win over Liberty on Sunday, behind a 15-point effort from David Tairu at United Spirit Arena.

John Roberson had 14 points for Texas Tech and Brad Reese chipped in with 14 points. Mike Singletary had 8 assists for them, while Robert Lewandowski was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 7 boards.

Liberty got 18 points from Evan Gordon in a losing cause and another 13 points from Antwan Burrus. Jesse Sanders contributed 7 assists for them, while John Brown had 14 rebounds.

Texas Tech trailed at halftime, 30-26.

The rebound battle favored Liberty as they grabbed 44 boards, while Texas Tech only had 35.
