Recap - Vanderbilt Defeats Appalachian State 86-73

Vanderbilt got 21 points from John Jenkins en route to an 86-73 victory over Appalachian State on Saturday at Memorial Gymnasium.

Vanderbilt did not, however, defeat Appalachian State against the spread, which closed at 14.5 at most sportsbooks.

Vanderbilt got 18 points from Festus Ezeli and another 17 points from Lance Goulbourne. Brad Tinsley contributed 8 assists, while Lance Goulbourne cleaned the glass with 8 rebounds.

Appalachian State got 27 points from Donald Sims in a losing cause and another 17 points from Omar Carter. Mitch Woods contributed 7 assists for them, while Omar Carter had 8 rebounds.

Vanderbilt led at halftime, 43-36.

The rebound battle favored Vanderbilt as they grabbed 37 boards, while Appalachian State only had 30.
