The battle between Syracuse and Cornell didnt turn out to be much of a battle at all as Cornell was handed a 78-58 defeat on Tuesday at Carrier Dome.
Syracuse was a 17-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters.
Rick Jackson had 17 points for Syracuse and Kris Joseph chipped in with 16 points. Scoop Jardine had 7 assists for them, while Rick Jackson was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 13 boards.
Cornell got 14 points from Errick Peck in a losing cause and another 9 points from Andrew Ferry. Chris Wroblewski contributed 7 assists for them, while Adam Wire had 6 rebounds.
Syracuse led at halftime, 38-17.
Syracuse won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 48-27.
