UCLA Defeats Cal Poly 72-61 - Recap

Joshua Smith scored 19 points leading UCLA to a 72-61 victory over Cal Poly at Pauley Pavilion on Saturday.

UCLA won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the 18.5-point spread.

UCLA got 13 points from Reeves Nelson and another 11 points from Tyler Honeycutt. Jerime Anderson contributed 6 assists, while Joshua Smith cleaned the glass with 12 rebounds.

Cal Poly got 18 points from David Hanson in a losing cause and another 13 points from Shawn Lewis. Maliik Love contributed 3 assists for them, while David Hanson had 5 rebounds.

UCLA hit the break leading 34-26 before taking care of business in the second half.

UCLA had a 39-24 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
