The battle between Belmont and Jacksonville didnt turn out to be much of a battle at all as Jacksonville was handed an 81-50 defeat on Monday at Curb Event Center.
Belmont got 15 points from Kerron Johnson and another 13 points from Scott Saunders. Drew Hanlen contributed 4 assists, while Scott Saunders cleaned the glass with 12 rebounds.
Jacksonville got 16 points from Russell Powell in a losing cause and another 11 points from Glenn Powell. Russell Powell contributed 2 assists for them, while Delwan Graham had 6 rebounds.
Belmont hit the break leading 42-21 before taking care of business in the second half.
Belmont had a 44-39 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
