Michael Glover poured in 39 points for Iona on Friday, as they defeated Canisius 94-85 at Hynes Athletics Center.
Iona did not, however, defeat Canisius against the spread, which closed at 11 at most sportsbooks.
Iona got 18 points from Scott Machado and another 16 points from Jermel Jenkins. Scott Machado contributed 11 assists, while Michael Glover cleaned the glass with 14 rebounds.
Canisius got 26 points from Elton Frazier in a losing cause and another 16 points from Julius Coles. Robert Goldsberry contributed 3 assists for them, while Julius Coles had 10 rebounds.
Iona hit the break leading 45-34 before taking care of business in the second half.
Iona won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 43-39.
