John Brown scored 16 points leading Liberty to a 67-65 victory over Chicago State at Jones Convocation Center on Saturday.

Liberty got 14 points from Antwan Burrus and another 14 points from David Minaya. Jesse Sanders contributed 7 assists, while John Brown cleaned the glass with 15 rebounds.

Chicago State got 21 points from Carl Montgomery in a losing cause and another 15 points from Antonio Lofton. Ardarius Simmons contributed 4 assists for them, while Carl Montgomery had 9 rebounds.

Liberty led at halftime, 34-21.

Liberty won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 44-34.
