Atlantic Sun Tournament - Recap - Belmont Defeats Mercer 80-72
Belmont earned an 80-72 victory over Mercer on Friday, getting 17 points from Jordan Campbell at Mercer University Center.
Belmont did not, however, defeat Mercer against the spread, which closed at 14 at most sportsbooks.
Belmont got 14 points from Kerron Johnson and another 11 points from Mick Hedgepeth. Drew Hanlen contributed 2 assists, while Mick Hedgepeth cleaned the glass with 9 rebounds.
Mercer got a 21-point performance from Brian Mills, who was supported by 19 points from Jake Gollon. Langston Hall had 5 assists in a losing cause for Mercer, while Brian Mills grabbed 10 rebounds.
Belmont hit the break leading 41-30 before taking care of business in the second half.
The rebound battle favored Belmont as they grabbed 35 boards, while Mercer only had 27.
