The battle between Belmont and Towson didnt turn out to be much of a battle at all as Towson was handed an 87-41 defeat on Saturday at Curb Event Center.
Belmont won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 22.5-point spread as favorites.
Belmont got 13 points from J.J. Mann and another 12 points from Drew Hanlen. Kerron Johnson contributed 6 assists, while Mick Hedgepeth cleaned the glass with 7 rebounds.
Towson got 9 points from Marcus Damas in a losing cause and another 8 points from Robert Nwankwo. Kris Walden contributed 3 assists for them, while Robert Nwankwo had 10 rebounds.
Belmont led at halftime, 48-22.
The rebound battle favored Towson as they grabbed 51 boards, while Belmont only had 41.
