Marcus James scored 18 points leading Sam Houston State to a 66-54 victory over Paul Quinn at Bernard Johnson Coliseum on Thursday.

Sam Houston State got 13 points from Konner Tucker and another 13 points from Darius Gatson. Konner Tucker contributed 5 assists, while Marcus James cleaned the glass with 17 rebounds.

Paul Quinn got 22 points from Reginald Hill in a losing cause and another 10 points from Darrell Augustine. Quentin Johnson contributed 4 assists for them, while Reginald Hill had 7 rebounds.

Sam Houston State hit the break leading 33-29 before taking care of business in the second half.

Sam Houston State won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 39-24.
