BYU got 23 points from Brandon Davies en route to a 95-78 victory over Santa Clara on Saturday at Marriott Center.
BYU did not, however, defeat Santa Clara against the spread, which closed at 19 at most sportsbooks.
BYU got 21 points from Noah Hartsock and another 21 points from Matt Carlino. Matt Carlino contributed 8 assists, while Nate Austin cleaned the glass with 7 rebounds.
Santa Clara got a 22-point performance from Kevin Foster, who was supported by 18 points from Niyi Harrison. Kevin Foster had 5 assists in a losing cause for Santa Clara, while Yannick Atanga grabbed 5 rebounds.
BYU hit the break leading 45-42 before taking care of business in the second half.
BYU had a 40-26 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
