The battle between Vermont and UMBC didnt turn out to be much of a battle at all as UMBC was handed a 90-62 defeat on Sunday at RAC Arena.
Vermont got 15 points from Four McGlynn and another 13 points from Clancy Rugg. Brian Voelkel contributed 10 assists, while Brian Voelkel cleaned the glass with 7 rebounds.
UMBC got 20 points from Chase Plummer in a losing cause and another 13 points from Brian Neller. Ryan Cook contributed 3 assists for them, while Chase Plummer had 9 rebounds.
Vermont hit the break leading 39-23 before taking care of business in the second half.
Vermont won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 41-23.
