The battle between Quinnipiac and Monmouth didnt turn out to be much of a battle at all as Monmouth was handed a 71-48 defeat on Saturday at Multipurpose Activity Center.
Quinnipiac got 18 points from James Johnson and another 9 points from Dave Johnson. Dave Johnson contributed 7 assists, while Ousmane Drame cleaned the glass with 10 rebounds.
Monmouth got a 13-point performance from Jesse Steele, who was supported by 10 points from Dion Nesmith. Austin Tillotson had 4 assists in a losing cause for Monmouth, while Ed Waite grabbed 6 rebounds.
