Texas-Arlington got 18 points from LaMarcus Reed III and another 12 points from Cameron Catlett. Shaquille White-Miller contributed 5 assists, while Jordan Reves cleaned the glass with 9 rebounds.

Sam Houston State got 24 points from Marcus James in a losing cause and another 17 points from Konner Tucker. Darius Gatson contributed 8 assists for them, while Marcus James had 13 rebounds.

Texas-Arlington hit the break leading 37-28 before taking care of business in the second half.

Sam Houston State won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 38-28.
