Dayton got 22 points and 13 rebounds from Chris Johnson en route to a 72-70 victory over Fordham on Saturday at Rose Hill Gym.
Dayton earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the 7.5-point spread.
Dayton got 14 points from Josh Parker and another 9 points from Kevin Dillard. Kevin Dillard contributed 5 assists, while Chris Johnson cleaned the glass with 13 rebounds.
Fordham got a 23-point performance from Chris Gaston, who was supported by 16 points from Devon McMillan. Branden Frazier had 7 assists in a losing cause for Fordham, while Kervin Bristol grabbed 15 rebounds.
Dayton led at halftime, 32-31.
The rebound battle favored Dayton as they grabbed 44 boards, while Fordham only had 42.
