Lamont Jones scored 18 points leading Iona to a 90-84 victory over Nevada at Hynes Athletics Center on Saturday.
Iona did not, however, defeat Nevada against the spread, which closed at 9 at most sportsbooks.
Iona got 17 points from Randy Dezouvre and another 15 points from Michael Glover. Scott Machado contributed 15 assists, while Michael Glover cleaned the glass with 9 rebounds.
Nevada got 28 points from Olek Czyz in a losing cause and another 21 points from Deonte Burton. Malik Story contributed 7 assists for them, while Dario Hunt had 14 rebounds.
Iona led at halftime, 47-46.
The rebound battle favored Nevada as they grabbed 31 boards, while Iona only had 27.
