The battle between Belmont and Lipscomb didnt turn out to be much of a battle at all as Lipscomb was handed an 89-60 defeat on Friday at Curb Event Center.
Belmont got 22 points from Kerron Johnson and another 19 points from Ian Clark. Kerron Johnson contributed 7 assists, while Brandon Baker cleaned the glass with 8 rebounds.
Lipscomb got 14 points from Deonte Alexander in a losing cause and another 13 points from Carter Sanderson. Khion Sankey contributed 4 assists for them, while Khion Sankey had 7 rebounds.
Belmont hit the break leading 42-26 before taking care of business in the second half.
Lipscomb won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 36-34.
