The battle between Charlotte and Lamar didnt turn out to be much of a battle at all as Lamar was handed a 70-49 defeat on Saturday at Dale F. Halton Arena.
Charlotte got 16 points from Denzel Ingram and another 12 points from DeMario Mayfield. Pierria Henry contributed 4 assists, while Willie Clayton cleaned the glass with 7 rebounds.
Lamar got a 14-point performance from Rhon Mitchell, who was supported by 10 points from Amos Wilson. Donley Minor had 4 assists in a losing cause for Lamar, while Stan Brown grabbed 11 rebounds.
Charlotte led at halftime, 39-22.
Lamar won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 49-39.
