Kansas State Defeats Texas Southern 78-69 - Recap

Texas Southern was burned for 26 points by Rodney McGruder on Tuesday as Kansas State picked up a 78-69 win at Bramlage Coliseum.

Kansas State got 14 points from Thomas Gipson and another 9 points from Angel Rodriguez. Angel Rodriguez contributed 5 assists, while Thomas Gipson cleaned the glass with 12 rebounds.

Texas Southern got a 24-point performance from Raymond Penn, who was supported by 13 points from Omar Strong. Raymond Penn had 5 assists in a losing cause for Texas Southern, while Fred Sturdivant grabbed 9 rebounds.

Kansas State hit the break leading 35-31 before taking care of business in the second half.

The rebound battle favored Kansas State as they grabbed 38 boards, while Texas Southern only had 26.
