Syracuse grabbed a 57-55 win over Cincinnati on Monday, behind a 16-point effort from Michael Carter-Williams at Carrier Dome.
Syracuse did not, however, defeat Cincinnati against the spread, which closed at 8 at most sportsbooks.
Syracuse got 13 points from Brandon Triche and another 13 points from C.J. Fair. Michael Carter-Williams contributed 7 assists, while Jerami Grant cleaned the glass with 7 rebounds.
Cincinnati got 21 points from Sean Kilpatrick in a losing cause and another 11 points from JaQuon Parker. Titus Rubles contributed 5 assists for them, while JaQuon Parker had 6 rebounds.
Syracuse led at halftime, 22-18.
Cincinnati won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 38-28.
