Phillip Crawford scored 26 points and chipped in with 16 rebounds for Alabama State on Saturday, leading them to a 69-62 victory over Alabama A&M at ASU Acadome.

Alabama State got 15 points from Joshua Freelove and another 10 points from Jamel Waters. Jamel Waters contributed 8 assists, while Phillip Crawford cleaned the glass with 16 rebounds.

Alabama A&M got 15 points from Brandon Ellis in a losing cause and another 12 points from Jose Long. Jeremy Crutcher contributed 6 assists for them, while Demarquelle Tabb had 9 rebounds.

Alabama State led at halftime, 33-22.

The rebound battle favored Alabama State as they grabbed 40 boards, while Alabama A&M only had 26.
