Mercury nip Fever in overtime
Cappie Pondexter and Penny Taylor dropped 23 points apiece to lead the Phoenix Mercury past the Indiana Fever 120-116 in overtime to take Game 1 of the WNBA Finals on Tuesday night.
Phoenix couldn't cover as 4.5-point home favorites, while the teams played OVER the 175-point total set by oddsmakers.
Diana Taurasi went for 22 points, nine rebounds, and six assists for the Mercury, who got 15 points from DeWanna Bonner in the win.
Katie Douglas poured in 30 points for Indiana, while Ebony Hoffman added 27 points and eight boards for the Fever.
