Shock advance with win over Fever
The Detroit Shock advanced to the Eastern Conference finals, completing a two-game sweep of the Indiana Fever with a 98-83 win Saturday.
Detroit came into the contest as 5.5-point favorites at The Palace of Auburn Hills and made good on covering the spread. The final score sailed OVER the posted total (131).
Cheryl Ford netted a team-high 23 points with 10 rebounds for the double-double and gathered one assist, while shooting 9-for-14 from the field in the series-clincher.
Tamika Whitmore collected a double-double in the loss, scoring a game-high 41 points with 10 rebounds and shot 15-for-25 overall as Indiana's season comes to an end.
