Shock take opener from Sun
The Detroit Shock carried their regular season success into the playoffs against the Connecticut Sun with a 70-59 win in the opener of the Eastern Conference finals Thursday night.
Detroit came into the game at home in the Palace of Auburn Hills as a 3.5-point favorite and made good on covering the spread. The game's 129 combined points fell UNDER the posted total (140.5).
Deanna Nolan shot 6-for-18 from the field in the first game of their three-game series, scoring a game-high 21 points with three boards and seven assists.
Taj McWilliams-Franklin netted 12 points, nine rebounds with three assists, while shooting 6-for-18 overall in the loss.
