Phoenix win championship
Penny Taylor scored a game-high 30 points and Cappie Poindexter added 26 points and 10 assists Sunday, as the Phoenix Mercury defeated the Detroit Shock 108-92 to win the WNBA Championship.
The Mercury were a 2.5-point underdog in the game. The combined score went OVER the posted over/under total (174.5).
Diana Taurasi chipped in with 17 points, seven rebounds and six assists for Phoenix, while Kelly Mazzante had 12 points.
Deanna Nolan led the Shock with 27 points and Katie Smith netted 18 points.
