Connecticut did not, however, defeat the Mystics against the spread, which closed at 11.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 145.5.
Connecticut got 18 points from Kara Lawson and another 10 points from Asjha Jones. Kalana Greene contributed 4 assists, while Tina Charles cleaned the glass with 9 rebounds.
The Mystics got a 25-point performance from Crystal Langhorne, who was supported by 17 points from Jasmine Thomas. Monique Currie had 3 assists in a losing cause for Washington, while Monique Currie grabbed 8 rebounds.
First-half bettors who backed Washington were victorious, as the score was 35-34 at the break.
Washington won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 30-27.
Next game, Connecticut takes its act on the road to face Indiana looking for another win. For Washington, they head home to face New York.
