The battle between the Sky and Mercury didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Phoenix was handed an 86-55 defeat on Sunday at US Airways Center.
The Sky were a 12.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 158.5.
Chicago got 22 points from Eshaya Murphy and another 15 points from Epiphanny Prince. Epiphanny Prince contributed 4 assists, while Swin Cash cleaned the glass with 8 rebounds.
Phoenix got 15 points from Charde Houston in a losing cause and another 10 points from Alexis Hornbuckle. Charde Houston contributed 3 assists for the Mercury, while Krystal Thomas had 13 rebounds.
Chicago led at halftime, 55-26.
The rebound battle favored Chicago as they grabbed 40 boards, while Phoenix only had 37.
Next game, Chicago takes its act on the road to face Seattle looking for another win. For Phoenix, they head on the road to face Los Angeles.
