Blue Bombers run over Tiger-Cats

Buck Pierce threw two touchdown passes and ran for another as the Winnipeg Blue Bombers defeated the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 49-29 Friday night in their season-opener.

Winnipeg won the game as 3-point underdogs, while the combined score sailed OVER the posted total of 50 set by oddsmakers.

Pierce completed 17-of-24 pass attempts for 291 yards in leading the Blue Bombers.

Kevin Glenn went 15-of-29 for 197 yards in a losing effort for the Tiger-Cats.
